Logan Area Guide
Logan sits between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, mixing established suburbs with some of the fastest developing master planned communities in Queensland.
Getting Oriented
The City of Logan covers the corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in South East Queensland. For property research it is best understood as two different conversations. Established suburbs such as Springwood, Beenleigh and Meadowbrook are questions about services, schools and existing housing stock. Growth areas such as Yarrabilba, Flagstone and Park Ridge are questions about development staging, infrastructure delivery and what the community will look like in ten years.
Yarrabilba and Flagstone are both designated Priority Development Areas, which changes how planning and approvals work compared with an ordinary suburb. Our individual guides below cover what that means in practice.
Suburbs to Explore in Logan
These are the areas we treat as the main research pathways in Logan. Suburbs with a gold underline already have a full Narevella guide. The rest are on our writing list, and we would rather publish fewer, properly researched guides than a large number of thin ones.
What to Research in Logan
Beyond the usual property checks, Logan research tends to reward attention to these areas:
- The exact zoning and overlays for a specific address through Logan City Council’s planning scheme mapping, since growth corridor boundaries matter here.
- Development staging and infrastructure delivery timing in master planned communities, which shape daily life for early residents.
- Current school catchments for a specific address through the Queensland Government’s EdMap tool rather than suburb name alone.
- Flood mapping for the specific lot through council flood tools, covered in our flood risk checks guide.
- Current public transport options through Translink’s journey planner, since services in growth areas change as communities build out.
