Current as at September 2026. The 2032 Games venue program is genuinely the largest piece of South East Queensland infrastructure news that Narevella has not yet covered as a dedicated article, despite it touching several of the regions this site researches most closely. The value of this article is not the news itself. It is the discipline of separating what is actually funded and under way from what has only been announced, applied the same way Narevella already applies it to the Coomera infrastructure pipeline.
Three Tiers, Not One Story
Games infrastructure gets reported as a single wave of announcements, but it genuinely sits in three distinct tiers, and a buyer researching an area should keep them separate.
Tier one: approved and starting
The Brisbane Stadium at Victoria Park is the centrepiece of the 2032 Delivery Plan. Federal environmental approval was granted in May 2026, land transfer arrangements have been finalised, and preparatory works were set to begin from 1 June 2026. The stadium is designed for 63,000 spectators and is expected to host the opening and closing ceremonies. The design team is COX Architecture, Hassell and Azusa Sekkei, and the stadium’s location within Victoria Park has been locked in as a critical feature.
Tier two: funded and progressing
The Budget progresses $417 million to deliver venues across the state, including upgrades at Barlow Park, the Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, the Logan Indoor Sports Centre, the Redland Whitewater Centre, Sunshine Coast Stadium and the Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Centre. Three of those named projects sit directly in Narevella’s core coverage area: Moreton Bay, Logan and Redland.
Tier three: planning and design only
The National Aquatic Centre currently has funding for planning and design. It has not progressed to construction, and nothing here should be read as implying a completion timeframe.
The overall funding provision across the Delivery Plan, covering the stadium works and other Games venues, totals $7.1 billion to 2031-32. That is a funding horizon, not a completion date for any individual venue beyond the stadium.
The Logan, Moreton Bay and Redlands Angle
Three of Narevella’s six core research regions each have a named, funded Games venue project. That is a genuinely useful local hook if you are researching any of those areas. See the Logan Area Guide, Moreton Bay Area Guide and Redlands Area Guide for the wider suburb-level detail, and Moving to Logan and Moving to Redlands for the broader regional research checklist.
What a Buyer Should Actually Do With This
Games infrastructure near an area is a reason to check the council’s development application tracker and any state-facilitated development pathway around the venue site, not a reason to form an assumption about the suburb generally. See Nearby Development and Planning Applications: What Buyers Should Check for the method. That keeps the research grounded in what you can actually verify for a specific address, rather than in speculation about a suburb’s future.
Brisbane’s other major transport project moving on a similar timeframe is Cross River Rail. See Cross River Rail Completion in 2029 if you are researching southside access more broadly.
What This Article Deliberately Does Not Say
It does not state or imply any price, rental or growth effect from Games infrastructure. It does not list venues beyond those named above, and it does not state a completion date for any venue other than repeating the Delivery Plan’s overall “to 2031-32” funding horizon as a funding fact, not a completion promise. It also does not go into the Victoria Park site’s planning or approval history beyond the environmental approval date above, since that detail was not independently verified this pass.
This article is general research information only. It does not constitute investment, planning or property advice, and Narevella is not a real estate agency, valuer or planning consultant. Funding status and delivery timelines for major infrastructure projects change, so confirm current status directly with the relevant state agency or council before relying on any figure here.
